Apologies to @mick for stealing his catchphrase!
Following on from the posts on the 2017 challenge topic, I thought I'd do a quick post on the cycling challenge that I've set myself this year - 3000 miles.
Inspired by @Adrian from last year, and joined on the quest by @mick who's left in to an early lead I'm looking forward to attempting to double my total from last year.
I'm aiming to do the Help For Heroes Dawn Raid again this year, so that will be at least 1 century ride, and there was some talk in the pub before Christmas of attempting the "Around the I.O.W. in both directions" in one day at some point as well, so that would come in at about 120 miles.
Ignoring those two, I'm working on trying to get an average a week of 70 miles to start the year off, on the basis that it will be good to get ahead of schedule and allow for injuries / holidays etc...
I'm not sure if it's possible for @admin or anyone else to set up a table like the weekly weigh-in one in case anyone else wants to track progress towards their targets? I will be using Strava as the main area to record the milage, but it's always good to track progress with others to keep up that accountability - that's why we're all here right!
Apologies for the long post - I know we're a footy site, but due to knackery ankles, my days on the pitch are long gone - so it's on the bike for me!
2 days / 10miles down, 363 days / 2990miles to go!
