Its a shame Steve from Black scored an injury this week and we wish him a speedy recovery and hope he can continue playing soon.
In regards to food diaries, Alcohol does seem to be playing a part for a lot of players, and I would encourage everyone for the remaining 10 weeks to limit their consumption as much a possible to get the most out of the program.
Alcohol is empty calories, providing no nutrition, and when we do drink it becomes our bodies preferred energy source, so the food we eat can then easily end up being stored as excess body fat. It also damages our liver, making it more difficult to utilise food for energy, making weight loss more difficult. A recent study has also show that alcohol can trigger hunger signals, it impacts our testosterone production- impacting our ability to build muscle and loose fat.
If you do want to have a drink, 45mls of vodka, gin, whiskey, tequila and brandy contain 100 calories. Ideally mix with low calorie mixers like soda water or have on the rocks, and make sure to stay hydrated.
