Was a great to meet you all this week for bring a friend week and get an idea about what I’m getting myself in to!
I would like to use this post to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my knowledge, experience and what I can bring to ManvFat.
So I’m Adrian Freakley. a personal trainer for nearly 10 years, specialising in training overweight clients with many success stories. My main passion is nutrition, ranging from weight loss to building muscle. I aim to use this to help you all reach your goals through my posts and by speaking to you all during sessions. Feel free to ask me any questions about this during your time in this league, it’s what I’m here for!
My other commitments include my job, teaching and training student police officers. This role is Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Following this I will be in the gym most evenings working on my own goals!
I am a big Villa fan (which will either delight or disappoint you depending on your own choice!) I have a 10 year old son (who for some reason supports WBA, but that’s another story) who I look after on the weekends. I am also a professional wrestler and current champion of my promotion (look out for me in WWE soon!)
So as you can see I’m a busy guy, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. The best time I will reply to messages will be weekday evenings and I will put some time aside each weekend for you all depending on commitments. But I will always reply to the odd message when I can!
So the new season is upon us. I’m not here to reinvent the wheel, but I would like to promote weight loss and reward those that are putting the effort in in this area.
Firstly, during registration you will all receive a new book. I would like to see you use this to record your weekly diet. Alternatively you can use an app like My Fitness Pal. Showing this during your weigh in will result in goals for your team. This gives me a chance to look over what you are eating and provide information that will help you improve. Diet is the best way you can lose weight!
I am keen to reward those who are active on the forum, posting comments and helping others with their weight loss goals. Remember - this is a team effort and this league only works if we work together!
With the numbers we currently have it is looking like it will be 6 teams for this season. I am keen to get some more new players in if we can. As it’s my first season I don’t want to change too much with the teams. I will be guided by the experienced players in the league about what works best. I want to keep the league as fair as possible with numbers of players, football talent and weight loss goals so it’s competitive. But 6 teams means the league season will finish earlier, allowing a cup competition in the final weeks!
Registration next week is 8pm-10pm. Don’t expect any football this week, if there is a chance at the end it’s possible but I can’t guarantee this. Teams will be confirmed on this day including names, captains for the season. I would encourage you to take team photos so we can add them to the page, but these can be done on week 1 if needed. The same applies to your individual starting photos. Then as you go through the season you can look back and see your progress!
