Week 8!

Hi Everyone,:wave:
After a week off i’v seen a few gains this week, lets get back on track, we are over half way now so need to see all your hard efforts really starting to pay off.

The weather is changing!!:smiley: lighter mornings and slowly staying lighter longer in the evenings, why not try and get yourself up and moving ready for the day by doing a little more exercise including…

  • Going to the gym (go for a swim, cardio on the machines)

  • Go for a brisk walk

  • Go for a jog/run

  • If you have cardio equipment at home make use of that and start getting into a routine

You may start to find a little more exercise will change your bad eating habits:+1:

On the subject of food … Kacie’s Tip of the Week :bulb:this week is all about foods for Spring time, listing a few foods which are in season at the moment. (NOT INCLUDING EASTER EGGS)

  • Fruits- Apricots, cherries, strawberries, Grapefruit, Gooseberries :cherries::peach::strawberry:

  • Vegetables- Asparagus, carrots, Kale, Leeks, Radishes, Spinach, Spring onion :carrot:

  • Meat- Beef steaks, Chicken, Sausages, Spring lamb :cut_of_meat::poultry_leg:
    :hotdog:

  • Fish- Crab, Lobster, Prawns, Sea Bass, Trout :fried_shrimp:

Be great to see you have a go cooking with some of these foods, start experimenting with foods you don’t normally cook with, light on the stomach meals are the way to go through Spring. :sunny::sunflower::blossom::tulip:

Ben and Richards Recipe of the week!:yum:
Butternut squash and sage maccaroni
-1 small butternut squash, peeled and chopped into small, even pieces
-200g dried macaroni
-1 tbsp olive oil
-1 medium onion, finely chopped
-2 garlic cloves, crushed
-1 tsp dried sage
-350ml vegetable stock, hot
-Small handful fresh basil to serve

Bring a pan of water to the boil and cook your butternut squash in it for around 10 mins or until soft

In the mean time cook your macaroni

Fry off the onion garlic and sage in a pan cook till the onions start to colour

Add your cooked butternut squash and onions and garlic to a blender and blitz till well combined and to your desired consistency

Served up your cooked macaroni then pour over the butternut squash mix if you got it too with some diced basil for added flavour

This recipe should serve two people
it’s also a vegan recipe
